10th ANNUAL HAWAI'I PHOTO EXPO 2009
The Hawai'i Photo Expo is pleased to announce the
schedule for this year's
exhibition and the selection of Ted Orland as our juror. Ted
will also be
presenting a half-day workshop on Sunday, May 31st, open to
all Expo
participants and Hilo Photography Club Members.

For West Hawaii contestants, Lighthaus Camera has graciously
agreed to accept submissions
to the Expo
from Monday May 25th until Friday May 29th at NOON
WHAT'S NEW
2009 Expo is under way! 265 entries were submitted, and 110 were selected for the show. Thank you to all who participated.
Ted Orland's comments have been added to About our Juror, and the accepted list is already up. As for the winners - you'll have to wait until Friday to find out!
Don't forget to join us for the Opening Reception and Presentation of Winners, this Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
2008 Winners and Honorable Mention photographers received
their awards at Wailoa Center. Their work and biographic
information can still be found in the archives.
WORKSHOP
"YOUR LIFE, YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS -- AND THE SPACE BETWEEN"
Ted Orland will talk about the strategies in play for entering (and being accepted in) juried shows, and offer his observations about many of the individual photographs submitted for this Exhibit. He'll then engage audience members in a conversation about what you hope to convey through your own photography - and how you can best reach that goal. |
