HAWAI'I PHOTO
EXPO REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility:
Entry Requirements:

All entries must use
an original photograph as the basis for the final
image. Traditional, Digital or Alternative
photographic processes may be used.

All photographs must
have been taken by the person whose name appears on
the entry form.

Photographs must have
been taken since Jan. 1, 2006, and must not have
been previously selected in ANY FORM
of juried or selective competition.

All photographs must
be in a sturdy frame ready to hang on the wall, with
wire securely attached for hanging. Saw tooth
hangers, clip frames or cardboard frames will not be accepted.

The maximum length or
width of entries, when measured inside the frame, is
36 x 36 inches. Glazing is recommended but not
required. Hilo Photography Club and Wailoa Center
will not be held responsible for any damage to
entries.

Hilo Photography Club
and Wailoa Center reserve the right to reject work
that is difficult to handle or sexually explicit.

Claim tickets
necessary for pick up of entries. A daily storage
fee of $5 will be charged for photographs not picked
up on designated dates.
Categories, Entry
Fees, and Prizes
Master:
For photographers or other visual artists who work with
images in their professions; photographers who have been
published regionally or nationally; photographers who
have won previous awards; or photographers who feel
comfortable competing at this level.
Entry Fee: $15 per photo.
Prizes:
1st - $400, 2nd - $250, 3rd -
$200
Enthusiast:
For photographers who love photography or pursue it as a
serious hobby and have not yet won an award.
Entry Fee: $10 per photo
Prizes:
1st - $250, 2nd - $150, 3rd -
$100
Honorable mention awards may be given at
the discretion of the juror in both the
Master and Enthusiast division, but will not be
accompanied by a cash award.
Student/Novice:
For high school, college, or adult photography class
students; or photographers who have less than one year
of photographic experience.
Entry Fee: $5 per photo.
Prizes:
1st - $100, Honorable mention - $50
Those who meet the Master requirements MUST
enter the Master category. Enthusiasts may
enter Enthusiast or Master categories.
Entries are limited to 5 per person
Entry fees may be paid in cash, or check payable to
Hawai'i Photo Expo. Entry fees are non-refundable.
If you wish to offer your photo for sale, please
indicate price on the entry form. Please note that
Wailoa Center will not act as an agent for sales, and
sales must be negotiated privately between photographer
and purchaser.
People’s Choice Award:
A gift certificate from
Lighthaus Camera will be awarded at the end of the
exhibit to the favorite photograph chosen by the viewing
public.
